Grant To Start Owls Contract Talks

Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant is set to pledge his future to Hillsborough by starting contract talks with the club in the next few weeks, according to his agent.

Grant's agent has told BBC Radio Sheffield that the former Derby and England under-21 goalkeeper is set to start discussions over a new contract 'in the next few weeks'.

And the news will be a welcome boost to Wednesday fans fearing the stopper may well be on his way out of S6 with a number of Premier League clubs showing an interest in his services.

Bolton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth were all linked with moves for the goalkeeper in the Sunday newspapers, while Manchester United have also been said to be tracking his progress.

But Grant is set to pen a new deal that will keep him as the Owls number one and warn off any clubs from his signature.

Fantastic news if he signs an extension!!
will it ever happen
he is playing first team football, I have no doubt he could step up and will do just I think he is too good to keep the bench warm he had that at derby a couple of years ago, why would he want to do it again, better wages perhaps?
