Laws Delighted With Owls' Fresh Start

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has spoken of his delight at seeing the club 'move in the right direction' after appointing Lee Strafford as the club's new chairman.

The future of the club has been in doubt in recent months but the appointment of Strafford - a die hard Wednesdayite - as chairman, and Nick Park as the chief executive officer, has given the players a huge lift, according to the Owls gaffer.

'It's a fresh start. I have introduced Lee to the players. I thought that was important, for there to be a connection between them and the hierarchy, and it went down really well,' Laws told the Sheffield Star.

'The players can see for themselves that things are moving. That's given them a lift. The signs are good. We all hope that a deal takes place so that we take a real step forward to where we could be and where we want to be.'

Laws is still aware that although things are moving forward, work is still to be do in order to secure fresh new investment innto S6.

He continued: 'It's a new dawn for the club, to at least try to put a process in place and allow us to get ready for the next step - new investment. The important thing from the club's point of view is direction. That's now been put in place.'

And the Owls supremo will be hoping the new additions to the club will help him out with just a little bit of money to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window.
