Owls Sign Wolves' Gray On Loan

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has bolstered his squad for the trip to Ipswich by signing Wolves' experienced former Sunderland player Michael Gray on loan.

Laws was desperate to add to his injury-ravaged squad in the January transfer window and he got his man in time for the trip to Portman Road, with Gray staying for a one-month loan.

The 34-year-old has played ten matches for the Championship league leaders this season but hasn't been able to cement a first team place with boss Mick McCarthy.

And Laws has wasted no time to take advantage of Gray's services.

'I am delighted that Michael Gray has agreed to join us on loan. He is a player who brings a wealth of experience, plenty of quality and is a committed character,' Laws told the official SWFC website.

'Michael also brings a degree of adaptability, is equally comfortable on the left of midfield or at left back but has played more recently as a midfielder and that is where I intend to use him.'

The loan stay of Gray could well be expected over the initial one-month loan should all parties agree to an extension.
