Burton Ineligible For Addicks Clash

Former Wednesday striker Deon Burton won't be returning to Hillsborough to haunt his former team mates with Charlton Athletic this weekend, despite reports in today's papers.

No doubt Deon would have been in top form for his new side had he been able to come up to S6 to try and halt the Addicks' dismal form.

But following the former Derby County hitman's move to The Valley, which was made permanent at the start of the January transfer window, both clubs agreed that the Jamaican international wouldn't be allowed to feature in the clash against his former side.

The 32-year-old made 124 appearances in the famous blue and white stripes during his spell at the club, scoring 26 times along the way.

Burton hasn't had the desired effect at the struggling outfit, netting just once since he first moved to the Valley on loan at the end of last year.
