Owls Take Serbs On Trial

Owls Take Serbs On Trial

Wednesday boss Brian Laws is looking further afield to bolster his squad in the January transfer window, with two Serbian midfielders on trial at Middlewood Road.

Despite the recent events at the club which have seen a new chairman and new chief executive office appointed at Hillsborough, Laws still has his hands tied behind his back as far as bringing new players into S6 is concerned.

The duo are both free agents - meaning Laws could take his time to run the rule over them and sign them outside the transfer window.

The pair are Boban Maksimovic, a left winger, 23, while the other is a striker in the shape of 17-year-old Miki Mileta Matovic

'The triallists are Serbs who have been playing in Switzerland,' Laws told the Sheffield Star.

'The younger one is at an age where he could be a player of the future; the other is more experienced.

'They looked decent in training; they showed up all right. Today is a chance for us to have a look at them in a game.'
