What On Wotton?

With Owls boss Brian Laws revealing he was hoping to sign a second midfielder on loan this week, the transfer rumour has heated up, with Southampton's Paul Wotton the latest name linked.

Laws revealed that he was hoping to sign a midfielder who was in action for a Championship team at the weekend and who could be in FA Cup action this week.

And although rumours have pointed towards Charlton's Matt Holland and Darren Ambrose so far, Southampton's Paul Wotton has joined the bill.

The former Plymouth Argyle man has had a tough time of it since moving to St Mary's from his long stint at Paul Sturrock's Argyle, and could be given a new lease of life by Laws if a move to S6 comes about.

Wotton was involved as a late substitute in the 1-0 win at Barnsley on Saturday and although he isn't in cup action this evening, would make more sense than bringing a Charlton player in, with the Owls up against the Addicks this weekend.

Burnley, Wolves, Birmingham, QPR, Swansea, Sheffield United, Charlton and Norwich City are the teams in cup action tonight.
