Trialist Nets In Shrewsbury Defeat

Wednesday reserves went down 4-1 to Shrewbury at Hillsborough this afternoon but first team boss Brian Laws could take positives from the clash.

Laws was in attendance to run the rule of two Serbian trialists, with one getting the consolation goal for the makeshift Owls in the defeat.

Mileta Matovic scored the Wednesday goal to try and impress the Wednesday gaffer before goals from Dave Hibbert, Will Richards, Michael Symes and Andre Grey sealed the win for Town.

Boban Maksimovic was another trialist who appeared in the famous blue and white stripes with Laws yet to make a decision on the duo.

But the match also proved useful for utility man Richard Hinds, who continued his step up back to fitness following a broken leg by playing 45 minutes.

Peter Gilbert also stepped up his fitness with the first 45 minutes in the clash while youngster Nathan Modest, who recently broke into the Owls' first team, also played.
