Owls Target Former Liverpool Man

Owls Target Former Liverpool Man

Wolves' former Liverpool midfielder Darren Potter has emerged as the favourite to sign on loan at Hillsborough for the rest of the season according to media reports today.

Owls boss Brian Laws revealed he was chasing an experienced Championship midfielder to further bolster his squad ahead of the clash with Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

But he couldn't wrap up the deal until after the FA Cup replay matches which took place through this week.

And with Potter being involved as an unused substitute in Wolves' 2-0 victory at Birmingham in midweek, his name more than fits the bill for the Wednesday boss.

Laws has already brought one man in from Molineux in the experienced former Sunderland man Michael Gray, and it could be two Wolves men coming to join the Owls in a week with the arrival of Potter.

The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international is set to arrive on a loan until the end of the season, with him being down the pecking order under Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.

And should his spell prove successful at S6, he could well secure a full deal with the Owls.
