Owls' Potter Signing Confirmed

Wednesday have confirmed that Wolves' former Liverpool midfielder Darren Potter has arrived at Hillsborough on loan until the end of the season.

As reported on Vital Sheffield Wednesday this morning, Potter had emerged the favourite to become Brian Laws' second loan signing of the January transfer window.

And the club have now confirmed that the 24-year-old has arrived at S6 and will go straight into the squad to face Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Owls boss Brian Laws told the official SWFC site: 'Darren is a box to box midfielder, very athletic and he can see a pass.

'He can certainly add to our midfield. He's hungry, enthusiastic and has a desire to play football. He's another part of our plan.'

The Irishman made the switch to Molineux after coming through the Anfield youth ranks and made an initial loan move a full one in 2007 for a feee of 250,000.

Sounds like just the player we need. Not heard anything about him, but a box-to-box midfielder with the ability to supply a telling pass? Hope he plays well.....

Who gives a ***** about bfl? I would have preferred Kaka from Milan, Messi from Barcelona or C. Ronaldo from Manchester United, but Potter is a great signing. Pretty excited.

Make the most of it piggy, your club is in more debt than mine. Do you really think that selling Beattie is the end of your sales. Naughton is next. Sell in a minute, you're gonna sell in a minute.

i dont know what all the hype about beattie was anyway-i didnt rate him, and i dont think he did enough to earn those huge wages he got paid-not that i care, that they were payin joke wages to a average player!!!

wouldnt say he was average supersibon - but his contribution was very limited. We always turned a blind eye though as he always seemed to score regardless wether it was a pen or free kick. at the end of the day he still had to get the ball in the back of the net which he managed to do with ease.

would ya say tho bfl, that for a guy who earned 30k to 40k a week, he did enough to deserve those wages?
