Owls' Potter Signing Confirmed

Owls' Potter Signing Confirmed

Wednesday have confirmed that Wolves' former Liverpool midfielder Darren Potter has arrived at Hillsborough on loan until the end of the season.

As reported on Vital Sheffield Wednesday this morning, Potter had emerged the favourite to become Brian Laws' second loan signing of the January transfer window.

And the club have now confirmed that the 24-year-old has arrived at S6 and will go straight into the squad to face Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Owls boss Brian Laws told the official SWFC site: 'Darren is a box to box midfielder, very athletic and he can see a pass.

'He can certainly add to our midfield. He's hungry, enthusiastic and has a desire to play football. He's another part of our plan.'

The Irishman made the switch to Molineux after coming through the Anfield youth ranks and made an initial loan move a full one in 2007 for a feee of £250,000.

Sounds like just the player we need. Not heard anything about him, but a box-to-box midfielder with the ability to supply a telling pass? Hope he plays well.....
