Owls Confirm Blades Match Beamback

Wednesday have confirmed that Owls fans without a ticket for the forthcoming Steel City Derby match with United will be able to catch the clash at a live beamback at Hillsborough.

The club were waiting for the allocation of 3,000 tickets for Wednesday fans at Bramall Lane to sell out before announcing that a beamback of the game could take place at S6.

And with the tickets selling in just a matter of hours, unfortunate Owls fans without a ticket can catch the game in the comfort of the Hillsborough South Stand.

A 45m square screen will be placed on the Hillsborough pitch, with upto 11,000 fans able to squeeze into the South Stand and Grandstand to watch the match.

Tickets will be priced at £7 for adult season ticket holders, £10 for non season ticket holders and £4 for concessions, and will go on sale from Friday, January 23 for season ticket holders, Tuesday, January 27 for members and Wednesday, January 28 for general sale.

Considering the reduced matchday ticket prices, what do people think about this? It's ok having tickets for games we allready have tickets for but let's be honest that's just to try and win over support of those that are invited with the free tickets. We haven't really saved and although a 45m screening of the derby sounds tempting, surely we should get a greater discount than 3 quid?

stop moaning!!!!

I'm betting it's going to cost a fair bit to open Hillsborough, even if it's just the South. You still have to be policed, ticketed, fed, entertained and cleaned up after. What would you rather have Wednesday do? Ignore the problem of the Blunts only giving us 3000 tickets and point the finger at them (which is what used to happen), or try to do something about it in as fair a way as possible? The positives far outweigh the negatives, and you have two choices: go, or stay away. I wish I had that choice. And as supersibon says.. it's time to stop moaning.

well said auckland!!!!!!!!!! everything thats happened since the new chairman took over has been positive. and with people moaning about discounts and prices of things-its unbeliveable-to say what state the club was in and what its in now. BIG DIFFERENCE!!

jesus some of you will moan about anything. £7 for season ticket holders is brilliant. When we played you lot and won 2-1 at swillsborough the beamback tickets were £12 for season ticket holders and £15 for non season ticket holders. bloody good price is £7. auckland is spot on with what he says!!

hey i'm not saying it's not good that they have reacted to only having 3000 tickets and I will be going to the beamback to show my support.

I reckon £7 is a bargain. Plus most of the profit will go to Wednesday rather than United. Winner

Still contemplatating if i am going to go or not???????
will it ever happen
That should have said 'contemplating' by the way. Time to go back to school i reckon!!
will it ever happen
I think it's a great thing to have a beamback - I for one will be there!!

Now i've thought about it. It is quite a good price, considering that they have to set it up, stewards, policing etc. I think I was just a little confused as to why we got free tickets for the other games instead of doing it for this instead but definetely makes sense from the clubs point of view, the free tickets will help to fill the stadium (plus they decided this before beamback and i suppose didn't have to give away anything at all) and will be great to be able to watch the derby after all :)
