Owls Set To Complete Buxton Deal

Owls Set To Complete Buxton Deal

Wednesday boss Brian Laws is set to complete his third bit of business in the January transfer window by completing the full transfer of Stoke City's Lewis Buxton.

Buxton has been on loan at Hillsborough for the last three months and has impressed the Owls gaffer enough to warrant a permanent move in the blue and white stripes.

According to local media reports, it's believed a fee has been agreed with the Premier League side and the formalities are close to being completed.

Buxton played his last match of his loan spell for the Owls in the 4-1 victory over Charlton Athletic at the weekend and Wednesday are unable to extend the loan over the three months which have already been used up.

But Buxton is expected to be a full Owls player in time for Wednesday's Chammpionship trip to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Despite Buxton being out of contract at Stoke at the end of the season Wednesday are still expected to pay a fee for the defender, but it's only expected to be a minimal fee.

Hearing alot about this boy over at Vital Spurs so just wanted gaunge your opinion on him (Tho I take it since Vital Wednesday are his official sponsor he must be a crowd favourite)

id be very happy if we could sign buxton permanently-i think hes been pretty consistent apart from 1 or 2 games. well i think the best thing about buxton is he can play anywhere across the back so i wouldnt say it spelt the end of simek but with hinds and gilbert id say it has given us plenty of depth in defence!!!! LW-spurr is a very very good young player and i think he could possibly do a decent job if he ever moved to the prem but hopefully he'll stay put for a good few years to come!!

Buxton is a great signing. He really impressed me except for that first game at Oakwell.

Good steady player and a welcome signing. Cannot see Spurr going to Spurs. He's been one of the most improved players over the last few years and is only going to get better.
will it ever happen

boden will be on tuppence apenny! don't know where you get these ideas from some times. I think Tommy as much as we love his desire would get found out in Prem. Tricky wingers always seem to get by him easily and consistently. Besides, I think Tommy would be lost in a big city like London.

Well sounds like you guys have a pretty good LB but i have heard him Likened to Stuart Pearce, hence why i wanted to know. WIEH I dont see anybody coming to Spurs after the Carling Cup Debacle and if we keep playing like that I'll be at Hillsborough to watch the mighty spurs play the owls, that is if Wednesday dont get promoted!!!
