Owls Reveal Investment On Track

Owls Reveal Investment On Track

Wednesday fans have been given a fresh update on the investment process at Hillsborough with another positive statement from the club today.

Owls chief executive Nick Parker and all behind the scenes at S6 have been working hard towards a March 31 deadline for fresh investment in the club.

And they've revealed that the deadline is still a realistic one to meet, revealing that an agreement has been reached with the Co-Operative Bank, the club's backers, regarding the indebtedness of the business.

The club also revealed that discussions are also going well with other creditors and key shareholders in order to get an agreement in place for any potential investors in the club.

'Long term financial stability is obviously a pre-requisite before any professional investor will put money into a business and these positive discussions pave the way forward for the club,' Parker told www.swfc.co.uk.

'We thank all the major creditors and parties involved for their support during this complex and protracted process and look forward to delivering a successful and financially secure future for Sheffield Wednesday.'

It's another step forward for the club in the search for fresh investment, and another positive day in a superb week for Owls fans.

This makes me a little nervous. I guess that we are looking to negotiate terms for repayment/overdraft and in the current climate, this may be more difficult than we think. Maybe I am just feeling a little jaundiced by the whole Geoff Sheard fiasco, but I will be mighty relieved to see this put to bed. Like everyone else on here, I have been feeling very positive about the future, but from time to time Captain Paranoia does make an unwelcome appearance.

Totally agree dobby...... it's all really positive, but after the last circus act, I think most of us will be feeling a little nervous until it's all official.

Understandably Dobby - I'm ashamed to say I supported Sheard's consortium before it all blew up so I'm mindful of having blind faith for fresh investment again. Strafford and Parker have been very open with everything though mate so I think this one bodes well for SWFC's future - more so than Sheards promise of millions anyway. Here's hoping.

trust this bloke guys ..he is no numpty..even if the investment doesnt come through this time which i think it will then i still think this guy will take us where we want to be..was at the lane last week and off to donny tommorrow..i hope we beat donny..sick of hearing how they are going to give us a lesson in football..i know they played well at s6 and are playing some good stuff but i think the football we have started to play since the 2 new lads came in is top draw..i was at forest the other week and we should have won that game even with 10 men, football wise we played forest off the park so lets hope we can show the donny lads that we can play football too!

yes but don't you think things are running smoother and a bit more proffessional this time round the club is starting to be run in a more proffessional manner were not pinning our hopes on a letter saying there are millions of quid sat in a bermudan bank ready for transfer, to me this has been done a lot better, the club is forging links developing its infrastructure and really starting to gear itself for an influx of investment, I think this deal is done and has been for a long time, time for some positivity!

Whatever happens, I have no doubt that the future is one hell of a lot brigher under these guys than it looked a couple of months ago. Looking forward to the right result tomorrow!!!

I agree dobby1, even without any investment these 2 guys have shown how to run a football club properly. With common sense and a young, fresh attitude they've already worked wonders with very little money. Money or no money, it looks like we're moving forward.

the fact that they will still be chairman and cheif exec if and when new investment comes in is very heart warming, lee straffard is a fan of the club,he knows what fans want, but he is also a very sucssful buisness man,all i know is im prepaird to go with what he brings on,we need to trust a chairman like we do our manager
