Everton Man Linked With Owls

Wednesday being linked with a striker in the class of Everton's Victor Anichebe would have been laughed at weeks ago - but is it now a possibility?

The Sunday papers linked Owls boss Brian Laws with a possible loan move for Everton's young striker, after the Nigerian fell down the pecking order at Goodison Park.

The Owls weren't the only club to be linked with his services though, with rivals Sheffield United and Blackpool also said to be chasing him.

Such a deal may well have been laughed off weeks ago, but under the new regime at S6 and the current feel-good factor, it feels like it's possible.

Of course, the Sunday papers are often way off the mark, and it could be the case this time - but you know what they say, there's no smoke without fire.

We'll keep you updated on any such move here on Vital Sheffield Wednesday.

Wednesday are a big club! As an Everton fan I'd be happy for Vic to get some much needed experience and game time at Wednesday. I will warn you though that he has flattered to deceive many times for us. However, a spell in the championship, playing regularly could do him the world of good.

Cant see this happening, he's too good for us. And arent Everton majorly short of strikers at the moment? I cant see them letting him go on loan (unless he's had a fall out with Moyes)
