Owls' Slow Starts Frustrate Laws

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has revealed his frustrations at his side's slow start to matches, which were more than evident in the 1-0 defeat to Barnsley last night.

The Owls have been slow starters throughout the campaign, but hugely below-par showings in the first 45 against Doncaster and Barnsley, which both resulted in 1-0 defeats, have angered Laws of late.

'I'm bitterly disappointed,' Laws told the Sheffield Star.

'The game was there for us to take it to them. But that's the second time we have been poor in the first half.

'We have to do better. We have to start better than that. The first half has been the catalyst for us losing the game.'

He continued: 'We can't wait for the second half; we have to do it in the first.

'I'll be looking for a response. We know we're going to be in for tough one against Crystal Palace on Saturday.'

Laws could well make changes for the visit of Neil Warnock's Palace side on Saturday, with Francis Jeffers among the players chomping at the bit to get their chance.
