Owls Ladies Overcome Curzon Ashton

New signing Tanya Rich stole the headlines and she helped Wednesday Ladies come from behind to beat Curzon Ashton in the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division.

Rich has signed the previous week from neighbours Doncaster Belles to bolster the Ladies' squad and levelled for the Owls after the visitors had taken the early advantage.

And it was another Tania, tis time Tania Marsden who grabbed the Owls' winner and turned the game on its head in the 65th minute to give Wednesday Ladies maximum points from the clash.

Daniel Duke said: 'We are very pleased with the result and the points on the board but mostly on how the ladies battled from the first to the final whistle.

Many of the players have been putting alot of effort in over the past few weeks and we always seem to come away with nothing, the performances have been good ones but the results have not been going our way.

'We shuffled our pack again today and the girls dug in and got some crucial points on the board. We are also delighted to bring in Tanya Rich who we always knew would stick the ball in the net if we feed her all in all a good result.'
