Clarets' Alexander Looking For Revenge

Wednesday travel to Burnley tomorrow knowing all too well that the hosts won't have forgot about their opening day 4-1 defeat at Hillsborough.

The stunning victory sent Wednesday to the top of the Championship and Burnley to the bottom - albeit for one match only - and Clarets experienced player Graham Alexander is certainly wanting to dish out the revenge, best served cold of course, on Saturday afternoon.

He told the official Burnley website: 'We conceded an early goal at Hillsborough which put us right on the back foot. It's something you don't envisage because you expect to start the season bright and sharp.

'It took everybody by surprise, we had a decent pre-season and just didn't see it coming; I don't think anyone did to be fair.

'Hopefully we can give Sheffield Wednesday a taste of their own medicine because it was one of the least enjoyable days of the season so far.

'We got a lot of stick after it and deservedly so because we were pretty poor on the day, but we've turned it around now and shown everyone what we are really about.'

As well as revenge, the Clarets will also be looking for valuable points which will help them keep their promotion push firmly on track.
