Return Of The Mac

Sean McAllister has recently broken back into the starting XI at Hillsborough and with two goals in three, could he be the goalscoring midfielder we've lacked in recent years?

The Bolton born Academy product has now got 3 goals for the Owls this season, following recent strikes against Crystal Palace and last night against Reading.

McAllister, 21, has taken the place of Summer recruit James O'Connor who has obviously been struggling in recent weeks. The Dubliner is now going to have to impress to get back into the side after impressive displays from McAllister.

McAllister's game differs from O'Connor's: both are the battling type, but McAllister seems to have an extra dimension in front of goal, finishing clinically. O'Connor is yet to score for the Owls.

Together the pair don't seem to work. The recruitment of Darren Potter shows that a little, big man approach in midfield is more effective for the Owls.

McAllister is one of our own too, so he obviously is encouraged more and has some affinity to the club. With more goals and heart on sleeve peformances he could well become our little Big Mac.

The first time I saw him I liked the way he got forward a lot. Think getting dropped must have given him the kick he needed. Agree that him nad O'Connor don't seem to click but love him with Potter. Here's to many more goals from little Macca!
