Gray Set For New Owls Deal

Experienced winger Michael Gray is set to pen a new one-year extension to his current short-term contract at S6 as boss Brian Laws continues to build his squad for next season.

Gray has been in top form since arriving from Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers on a loan deal, before turning that into a permanent contract in January until the end of the season.

But now, the former Sunderland man looks to have done enough to warrant an extension of his deal at S6, with the Owls set to offer him a one-year extension to take him until the end of the 2009/10 campaign.

'If we want to do well next season we'll need cool heads like Michael and I'll certainly be talking to him,' Laws told the Sheffield Telegraph.

The Wednesday boss has already revealed that he has one eye on next season as far as new signings go, and with the extension of Gray's deal at the club, it looks like he's already started building his squad for the 2009-10 season.

Gray will feature against his former club when Wolves make the trip to Hillsborough tomorrow.
