England Expects For Owls' Beevers

Young Owls defender Mark Beevers has received a huge boost with the news that he's on standby the the England Under-20's squad to face Italy later this month.

Although not in the full squad, the Barnsley-born defender has attracted the interest of the young national side and could be set to be included in the U20 squad should they pick up any injuries ahead of the clash with the Italians.

Beevers has enjoyed a superb start to his Wednesday career, attracting the interest of a number of Premier League clubs including Newcastle and Everton, according to media reports this season.

And former Owls boss Paul Sturrock tipped the centre-back as a future England player, despite not seeing him action for the first team during his time at S6.

Beevers could be included for the match, which takes place at Q.P.R.'s Loftus Road stadium on Tuesday, March 21.

He shouldnt be on "standby", he should be in the squad.

I agree Skeggy, he's surely better than the majority of anyone else around!! Only problem is that it's gonna add to his demand from other clubs!!!
