Laws Thankful For Good Fortune
Wednesday boss Brian Laws insists his men were due some good fortune as they rescued a point at the death in a four-goal thriller with Watford on Saturday.
Francis Jeffers netted a leveller from the spot deep into added time after the linesman had over-ruled referee Keith Woolmer's decision to wave away claims for a penalty.
On televsision replays the linesman seemed to get the decision correct, and Jeffers was is no mood to look a gift horse in the mouth as he smashed home the equaliser to give Laws' men a share of the spoils.
'We'll take with the rough with the smooth, if you like,' Laws told www.swfc.co.uk.
'I think the referee changed his mind on the penalty on the advice of his linesman and maybe we were due that good fortune because we certainly deserved something out of that game.'
Just days earlier Wednesday threw away three points at Deepdale as Jon Parkin netted a leveller two minutes into added time to deny the Owls all three points in Lancashire.
But for Laws and his team, and the healthy band of travelling Wednesdayites at Vicarage Road, it was surely be a case of what goes around, comes around.
