Owls Legend Leaves Oldham

Wednesday legend John 'Shezza' Sheridan has left his position as manager of Oldham Athletic after three years in charge at the League One club.

Shez, 44, left Boundary Park following a heavy 6-2 defeat at promotion chasing MK Dons on Saturday.

But the departure runs much deeper, with the former Latics boss being subject of alleged incidents with some Oldham players at a club meeting with fans last week.

The former Owls and Leeds United midfielder had been at the Oldham helm for three years and will be replaced by former Oldham boss Joe Royle.

Sheridan, who scored the winner in Wednesday's 1-0 League Cup final victory over Manchester United at Wembley in 1991, has always talked about his desire to one day take on his dream job as manager at S6.

And he'll no doubt be not too far from getting straight back into management after the top-drawer job he's done during his three years in Lancashire.

I second that and also would like to see him become a owls boss one day but perhaps he should manager at a higher level first also I wouldn't like it to undermind or unsettle Laws and what he's trying to do like the Chelsea situation a while back with jose and grant

I hope he lands a good position, either in the Championship or higher, but if & when the time comes I would love to see him in charge at S6......
