Owls Target Opts For Wolves

Wednesday loan target Marlon Harewood has opted to join Championship promotion hopefuls Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan from Aston Villa.

Harewood, who was way down the pecking order under Martin O'Neill at Villa Park, was one of a number of options Owls boss Brian Laws was thought to be looking at to bolster his squad.

But the 29-year-old looked to be heading in the direction of former club Nottingham Forest to help them out in the battle against relegation back to League One.

A late twist in the tale though as seen the former West Ham man have a change of heart and agree a deal to go to Molineux.

Harewood will go to Mick McCarthy's men on loan initially, but the deal could be made permanent in the summer should the move prove successful.

come on he was never going to come to you lot anyway + how the hell could you have even considered a move for him when you are already crippled in 30m debt and no takeover??? just hype - wendy are excellent at that. + 22k is very reasonable for a striker of his ability, i would have expected for him to be on at least 30k a week at villa
