Esajas Winging In For Owls

Forgotten winger Etienne Esajas will use tonight's reserve team match with Lincoln City to show he's ready to return to first team action.

The Dutchman has been sidelined with a toe injury for over three months and will complete 45 minutes for the Owls' reserves this morning, it's hoped.

His absence has prompted Owls boss Brian Laws to bring in Michael Gray and more recently Luke Varney to bolster Wednesday's attacking options.

But Esajas told the Sheffield Star that he's hoping to be back before the end of the season, insisting: 'I will do anything to get back. I will give everything. It will be up to the gaffer and will depend on my fitness level. This injury has been a real blow to me.'

It's not the first serious injury the tricky winger has had since his arrival at S6, and he'll be hoping his recovery will be the start of a fresh era for him at the club, no doubt.

Will be good to see him back.... I think he gives us options nobody else does and he was just getting on a scoring roll when he was injured.

hes one of a few players for us that has genuine talent, i think we would have nicked at least another 6 points at soe point this season if we had etienne and akpo, ah well itll be like 2 new signings for next season which is what brian is probably looking at now, hence the varney signing, it takes the pressure off akpo so he doesnt have to be rushed back.

skill pace and end product be it crossing or goals, I think Etienne was on for a good season until his injury, desperately miss someone with his ability on the wing

LOve him! Don't think he's been forgotten has he?? The sooner he's back fit the better all round - has the same pace and skill as JJ but isn't moody and can actually finish!
