Owls Sweat On Bischoff

Owls boss Paul Sturrock will face an anxious wait on the damage to loanee Mikkel Bischoff after the Manchester City defender was forced off with a knee ligament injury in the 0-0 draw with Burnley at Hillsborough yesterday.

Bischoff was replaced by Lee Bullen at half time during yesterday's match, and will wait to have the knee scanned on Tuesday.

Sturrock was all set to offer Bischoff an extended loan deal, but will now wait for the results of the scan, which could see his initial loan spell ended early.

The Owls have been unbeaten since the Dan arrived at Hillsborough from Manchester City, and were hoping to keep his services until the end of the season. There was also talk of taking him on permanently with his contract at Eastlands set to expire at the end of the season.

It won't be the first time Bischoff has had a successful loan spell ended prematurely. Wolverhampton Wanderers took him on loan last season but his first spell was ended early there, and talks of a permanent contract were ended by the Midlands club.
