Owls Release Gilbert

Wednesday defender Peter Gilbert has left the club after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.

The former Leicester City left-back has been left way down the pecking order under boss Brian Laws, who's looking to shape his squad for next season sooner rather than later.

And Gilbert is the first current player to move away from S6 after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.

The move allows the defender to search for a new club before the summer.

The former Plymouth Argyle man, who was subject to an approach from his former side earlier this season, made 32 league starts in the blue and white stripes.

Just echoing what's been said, good luck and I hope that KPS takes you on at Plymouth (if he's still there, I really have no idea).
