Bischoff To Miss Owls' Crewe Clash

Owls on-loan defender Mikkel Bischoff will miss the relegation six-pointer against Crewe this weekend, but no further injury news has come through about the extent of the damage.

The Manchester City defender was replaced by Lee Bullen at half-time during the 0-0 draw with Burnley at the weekend.

Owls boss Paul Sturrock feared the defenders time at Hillsborough was over after he suffered medial knee ligament damage, but the initial scnas are inconclusive as to the extent of the damage.

Bischoff was due to play his final game for the Owls on Saturday, but Paul Sturrock will wait to analyse the injury before asking the Manchester club to extend his loan deal after some impressive performances.

The news means the Owls have just two fit centre backs at the moment - Lee Bullen and Graham Coughlan. But Sturrock insisted that Drissa Diallo may be able to make the trip after responding well to treatment to his torn hamstring picked up at Coventry six weeks ago.

Sturrock told the official SWFC site: 'It would be a big leap of faith to play him; he's been out a long time. But he is experienced. We'll have to wait and see.'
