Owls Discuss Carson Loan Extension

Owls boss Paul Sturrock has today opened up talks with Liverpool about the possibility of exntending the loan deal of goalkeeper Scott Carson.

The England under-21 international is down the pecking order at Anfield, and has impressed since joining the Owls three weeks ago.

The former Leeds United stopper has made four appearances for the Owls so far, and has helped them to two victories and two draws in the battle against relegation - leading to Owls fans calling on an extension to his loan deal.

Carson produced a man of the match performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and will hope to produce a number more if his contract is extended until the end of the season.

It is thought there shouldnt be any problems with the extension, and Sturrock is likely to know within the next 24 hours - with Carson's final game of his initial loan spell against Crewe on Saturday.

Reina and Dudek still fit after the weekend, so barring any Dave Beasant style 'sauce bottle on foot' injuries to either of them, we should have a good shot at keeping Carson!
