Laws Keen On Potter Magic

Boss Brian Laws has revealed that he'd like to keep midfield loan star Darren Potter at Hillsborough once his loan deal from Wolves is over.

Laws brought the former Liverpool man to S6 earlier this year to bolster the Owls' midfield and he's been impressed in his performances in the blue and white stripes.

And he's told BBC Radio Sheffield that he's keen to add Potter to his squad on a permanent basis next season.

'He has done well and we would like to try and keep him,' he said,

'If we want to play good football we need players like him.'

'If you look at his stats on Prozone he is higher than anyone else on the pitch and that shows his quality.'

With Wolves looking likely to achieve promotion to the Premier League it seems likely that Potter would be surplus to requirements at Molinuex.

It could mean the Owls could get their man at cutprice, and they'd also be the likely choice for the midfielder should any other clubs come in for his services.

we have to start progressing as a team potter has added craft rather than the graft our other midfielders offer. We need to build around people like him to improve for next season we need more money to attract better quality players but this we take time .We are only slightly better than we were last season and dispite two derby wins we failed to kick on from these losing against donny and dingles was disapointing we will have to see who laws try's to sign we need a quality striker who can stay fit but we say this every season and still only finish mid table.

Seems like a useful player to me, he was on Liverpools books and that alone says enough! A calm head on relatively young legs it would seem and players like him are what we need to progress in the long run. Old heads are good every now and again but they may have a good 6 months or so and then not have the legs to carry on and if we wanna build on what we have we need to keep the likes of Potter, along with Spurr, Simek, Beevers etc. I believe Sodje will be back firing next season, surely he cant have another year like this one?? Jeffers needs to start scoring as he must be one of, if not THE top earner at the club and his wages could probably get us 2 good players that would get us the goals!! Hopefully our back 4 will start as Spurr, Wood, Beevers and Simek with Granty in goal next season and i'm hoping that Laws leaving Beevers and Simek on the bench the last few weeks is just down to lack of fitness?? Does anybody actually know why this has happened? I hope it dosen't mean he's thinking of letting them go??

Don't think he's letting anybody go westyowl7, but maybe he's easing simek back in gradually, and beavers is prone to mistakes like the one at watford, but he's only young and hopefully will learn from from them, richard hinds is experienced defender, i think he's just what we need at the moment.
