Owls Keen To Extend Bischoff Deal

Owls boss Paul Sturrock has expressed his desire to keep on-loan Manchester City defender Mikkel Bischoff at Hillsborough until the end of the season - despite being ruled out for two weeks.

The Danish defender picked up an injury in the Owls draw with Burnley at the weekend, and Sturrock feared the centre-back may miss the rest of the season.

But scans have shown the tear in his medial knee ligament is only minor, which means he should be fit for the final few weeks of the campaign.

Sturrock told the official SWFC site: 'With the Wood and Diallo scenarios I feel it's important to tie him up to cover ourselves so I'll have to chat to the chairman. It depends on how good a healer he is but the specialists feel he could play a couple of games before the end of this season.'

Bischoff's arrival has seen an improvement in form at S6 - with the Owls stretching their lead from the relegation zone thanks to two wins and two draws.

The Manchester City defender has been injury prone at the City of Manchester stadium though, and had a spell at Wolves cut short last season because of injury.

Sturrock hopes he makes a quick recovery and could be available to play in the vital games against Reading at Hillsborough and Derby County on the final day of the season.

Make the guy feel wanted... then we might get him at the end of the season :-)

I'm sure we would get him at the end of the season. He wanted to go to Wolves last season but they didnt take him, so surely we should make a move.
