Potter - Owls Deal Will Take Time

Wednesday's loan star Darren Potter has revealed he expects to be back in the blue and white stripes next season - but a deal won't happen overnight.

The Wolves man saw his loan spell at Hillsborough come to a successful end with a 1-0 victory over Cardiff City on Sunday.

But Wednesday boss Brian Laws has made no secret of his desire to keep the former Liverpool man in his squad on a permanent basis next term.

And a deal is set to be struck over the close season after Wolves boss Mick McCarthy revealed that Potter would be one of his squad set to depart Molinuex after being deemed surplus to requirements following the club's promotion to the Premier League.

But although Potter's permanent arrival at S6 seems all but done, the midfielder says a move is going to take time.

'I don't think it's going to be a quick fix and happen overnight or in the next week - it's probably going to take time,' he told Yorkshire Sport.

Potter has revealed that talks between all parties are 'ongoing' and he should be back at S6 in time for the start of pre-season training.

Hope a deal gets sorted out for him quickly, he has done well for us whilst he has been at Hillsborough.

I think if we look at the form of the team before Potter and after Potter the difference isn't significant, if any, but fingers crossed we sign him, he is a good player.

Could be a useful signing! He's done pretty well for us and will hopefully go from strength to strength.

Does anyone think that McCarthy might try to use Beevers as a bargaining tool in this deal ?
