Carson Deal Extended

Paul Sturrock has successfully extended the loan deal of Liverpool stopper Scott Carson until the end of the season.

The England under-21 'keeper's stay at Hillsborough was due to end after this weekends crunch clash with Crewe Alexandra, but he will now help the Owls battle against relegation until the end of the season.

Wednesday have been unbeaten since the arrival of the former Leeds stopper, picking up two draws and two victories which has seen them extend the gap between themselves and the relegation zone.

Carson has kept two clean sheets during his four game stay, and produced a man of the match performance in the crucial 3-01 away victory at Wolves recently.
