Owls Target In U-Turn

Bristol City striker Dele Adebola, who has been hotly linked with a summer move to Wednesday, could be set to stay on at Ashton Gate by agreeing a new deal at the club.

Local and national media reported that a deal had been all-but-done to see the former Crewe striker in the famous blue and white stripes for next season.

All parties denied such a deal had been completed, although the powerful hitman had been stalling on agreeing a new deal at the Championship club.

But, following his player of the season accolade picked up at City recently, Adebola has revealed that he's in talks with boss Gary Johnson about a new deal at the club.

'I'm still talking to the manager and the chairman about staying on at Bristol City, but if it comes to an end I can safely say that this is a great club with a great set of lads and great support,' he told eatsleepsport.

Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers have also shown an interest in signing the experienced forward, although it could be some time before Adebola decides his fate for next season.

Is there a club in the Championship he hasn't been linked with yet? Talking in the pub last night and someone said "we've been linked with Adebola"... response from everybody was just "so have we"
