'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Waddle and Hirsty On Their Bikes

Wednesday legends Chris Waddle and David Hirst will get 'on their bikes' to cycle coast-to-coast to raise money for charity.

The former Owls duo will be joined by ex-Newcastle United star John Beresford and a host of Wednesday fans to take part in the three-day, 150-mile ride from Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria to Filey Bay.

The event is lead jointly by Wednesdayite and Sheffield Wednesday Football Club with the support of Sheffield Owls Disabled Association (SODA).

The ride aims to raise thousands of pounds for The Children's Hospital , Sheffield, and the SWFC Disability Development Fund.

Sheffield-based CCC Outdoors have donated the bikes to enable the trio take up the challenge.

The trio will be in attendance at the Wednesdayite Coast to Coast Charity Bike Ride Launch and Official Bicycle presentation, which takes place today at 11am at CCC Outdoors, Hill Street, off Bramall Lane.

The event takes place this September and Wednesday are currently setting up methods to make donations.
