Owls Confirm Second Signing

Wednesday have confirmed their second signing of the summer with the news that Ipswich Town's Tommy Miller has agreed to a move to Hillsborough.

The experienced midfielder has agreed to a two-year contract with the Owls on a free transfer after leaving Portman Road at the end of the 2009-10 campaign.

The signing is the Owls' second in three days, with former Cardiff City man Darren Purse agreeing to a two-year deal on Saturday to bolster the defence.

'Tommy Miller has a huge amount of Championship experience and is exactly the kind of player I am looking to bring to Sheffield Wednesday,' Laws told www.swfc.co.uk.'

The signing shows the direction Laws is looking to go this season - with experience at Championship level and to add some steel to the relatively young Wednesday side.

The former Sunderland man was used on the right wing for much of Ipswich's campaign but his preferred option is as an attacking midfielder.

Top signing brian, now this is the kind of player we've been looking for, we've now got a midfield player that actually scores goals, 1 in 4 is not a bad record for any midfielder.

wouldnt mind seeing lita chopra or jerome
aussie2005
i would take any of those 3 or phillips or earnshaw
Dubai-Owl
kevin phillips good shout earnshaw also good shout they would be great signings would love to take them both if wages allowed imagine how much the young defenders could learn playing against them everyday in training
aussie2005
not a chance we'll get jerome, or chopra-because that would mean we'd have to pay a fairly large fee and that isant going to happen!!! wouldnt want phillips-i still think that lita has to be the top target now wage might be a fiar size but not transfer fee has to be the more appealing option. p.s happy with the miller signing-lol.
supersibon
yeah earnie chopra jerome would be pretty big fees cant see them phillips will leave on a free this summer prob didnt play much this year and gonna play less now they in prem so him or lita i'd take in a shot, good too see us making early decent signings too

great news, a big squad with half decent quality is what u need in this division. The new board are working well with BL

Not sure about this signing but not going to have a go until i've seen him play. By the sounds of it, you have to play him in his position to get the very best out of him. Ipswich didn't!!
will it ever happen
Absolutely. Got to put him in the centre.
