Former Owls In Cup Final

There were two former Owls on the Hampden Park pitch as Rangers lifted the Homecoming Scottish Cup with a slender 1-0 victory over Falkirk.

Madjid Bougherra ended up on the winning side as Nacho Novo's strike ensured Walter Smith's men the double, while Burton O'Brien featured but couldn't provide enough to help Falkirk to victory.

Lee Bullen missed out for Falkirk, who avoided relegation at the end of the SPL campaign, but rounded off their campaign with a dogged display against the Scottish league champions.

Bougherra, who left the Owls for Charlton Athletic, led the Gers magnificently at the back, while O'Brien also worked tirelessly for Falkirk throughout, but the underdogs couldn't provide a shock on the day.
