Canadian Net Giant Shows Owls Interest

Canadian Net Giant Shows Owls Interest

Talk on the Owls' takeover front has gone quiet in recent weeks but technology giant Jeff Mallett has been linked with a buyout of the club in today's papers.

Mallett already has links with Championship rivals Derby County, which are believed to be more 'behind the scenes' than actually pumping cash into the Pride Park club.

Wednesday chairman Lee Strafford has already been over to America for discussions about the possibility of investment, and it's believed the Owls supremo has held initial discussions with Mallett.

The multi-millionaire already has stakes in the Vancouver Whitecaps and San Francisco Giants baseball team, and is thought to also have a love for the English football game, shown by his involvement with the Rams.

Sources close to Mallett have today revealed to 'The People' newspaper that the business tycoon likes to get any kind of deal done quickly, so expect further updates sooner rather than later...

BFL smiling again! But I thought you didn't rate your chances for next year. I don't think we should get excited by any takeover talk, it's always turned out to be ********* in the past.

Just googled him and it says that the canadian multi-millionaire is looking into a takeover at Sheffield Wednesday and will become a major shareholder in the next few weeks investing $50 million to help the sheffield club return to the premier league, i wonder if he's related to jeff sheard

Then again we did'nt sell enough season tickets before the first cut off point, this could be a ploy to make rush out and buy them, only to disappoint us once again just like last year with the geoff sheard saga.
