'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Owls Ladies Eye Top Flight

Sheffield Wednesday Womens Football Club have outlined a three-year plan to get the club back into the top flight of ladies football alongside clubs such as Arsenal and Everton.

The club, led by head coach Daniel Duke and chairman Jeff Maslin, are undergoing a number of changes over the close season to start their assault back on the top flight.

Liam Kelly has also joined the club to assist Duke from next season, bringing with him experience from his time in the community with Leeds United and with Guiseley Ladies.

Duke commented: 'The hard work starts now for all the players, staff and friends of Sheffield Wednesday.

'There is no reason why we should not be playing on the same field as Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea on a regular basis.

'We are currently looking for players with drive, ambition and above all else professionalism.

'As from the 1st June my phone will be red hot speaking to players that we have identified and have the right calibre and attributes to help us with our plan to return to the Premiership.'

The club have also agreed a new ground deal with UniBond Premier League side Worksop Town FC, with phase one complete as the Owls look to continue their progression on and off the field.

Trials for the club will be held at the end of June, with dates yet to be announced.
