Carson Hints At Season-Long Loan

On-loan Liverpool 'keeper Scott Carson has hinted that he may be interested in staying at Hillsborough on a season-long loan next season - if Wednesday stay in the Championship.

The former Leeds United stopper has impressed during his five-game spell at the club, which was extended until the end of the season last week.

Carson said: 'I like being here. I have had five games now and I feel a lot better than when I was at Liverpool and just training. You can't beat having games.'

'Maybe at the minute it would be best for me to go out for a full season on loan and get some experience. I think that's what the manager wants. I wouldn't rule out coming back to Wednesday but I have to wait and see what happens.'

The news comes as a timely boost for Owls boss Paul Sturrock, who received the news that Owls number one David Lucas would be out until Christmas through injury.

The form of Carson has seen the Owls win two draw, two and lose just one in their battle to stay in the Championship. Arguably his best performance came in the 3-1 away victory at Wolves.
