Former Owl Signs For Robins

Former Wednesday goalkeeper David Lucas has signed for Swindon Town after being released from his contract at Leeds United.

Lucas was a key part of the Owls' promotion campaign from League One under former boss Paul Sturrock but was found playing second fiddle at Elland Road under Simon Grayson.

And Lucas has since been released from his contract at the League One play-off losers, penning a two year deal with Swindon Town today.

Lucas will be working under another former Owl in Danny Wilson at Town and will join former Owls Jon-Paul McGovern, Barry Corr and Lee Peacock, no doubt seeking advice from the trio with regards to the move.

The stopper made 52 first team league starts for Wednesday after making his move from Preston North End a permanent one.
