'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Former Owl Takes R's Role

Former Wednesday midfielder Jim Magilton has returned to management with Championship side Queens Park Rangers after being unveiled as their new boss today.

The 40-year-old left his position as manager of Ipswich Town last season after the Tractor Boys failed to make an impact of the Championship promotion spots.

But his managerial skills seem to have made a good impression Rangers chairman Flavio Briatore, who told BBC Sport: 'We had an incredibly high number of applicants, but Jim was the stand-out candidate for the role.'

Recent managers of the Loftus Road club have failed to impress Briatore, with the club having a recent track record of departing with their managers after a matter of months.

But Vital wishes Jim all the best in London, apart from when Rangers come up against the Owls.
