City Eye Owls' Grant

City Eye Owls' Grant

Premier League giant spenders Manchester City are keeping tabs on Wednesday stopper Lee Grant, according to media reports today.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Mark Hughes' men are looking at Grant to replace Joe Hart, who's leaving Eastlands to join Birmingham City.

The Owls' number one has been subject of interest from a number of big clubs after his fine form between the sticks last season.

But he pledged his future to Brian Laws by agreeing a new deal at Hillsborough recently, and would command a big fee for any clubs wanting his services.

Manchester United and Newcastle United are amongst the other clubs believed to have shown interest in the former Derby County stopper.

But it's likely Grant will be warming the bench with Shay Given as City's current number one - something the former England under-21 player won't be too keen about.

Brian needs to keep the spine of the team together if we're going to push on from last season!! as its city could price him at 30million!!!!

absolutely, if the lure of filthy wonga is too much, if Granty wants to go, if Wednesday have to sell, let's milk 'em for every penny.

keep hearing 1.5m banded around, what the hell is that about?! i'd want 5 at least before we even considered it. Is it me or do our players always get undervalued when theyre linked with moves like Spurr and Beevers to West Ham for 3m combined. But i will probably cry if Grant leaves in all seriousness

hes got him self back as one of the best out side the PREM dont think he would fancy sitting on the bench for city not even for 50g a week ..if we did sell would hope we get at least 5mill and then get murphy from scunny on the cheap he has stalled on a new deal with them

you have to be realistic like us. i personally think you are well over valuing grant. if someone came in with a 1.5m offer it would be accepted. i personally would value him at the 2m mark but remember your debt. just like we have to reduce our wage bill. 5m?? jesus we would be lucky to get that each for the 2 kyles - and they are absolute pearls. deffinate future england players and if they were at premiership clubs now i'm certain both would be playing tonight for england without a shadow of a doubt. + no club sells players as cheap as we do its really really soul destroying!!

thanks for that bfl but it was pure garbage as always, realistic like you? every clubs in debt, you just put kyle walker in the same sentence the kids played less than 10 games, and saying they'd both be playing for england tonight is possibly the most comical thing you've ever said

as always when you try to comment fairly you get insulted. told you smigg m8. regards to the 2 kyles of course they would be playing for england if they were both at premiership clubs - don't talk out of ya ass wesp. these 2 young guns are the best 2 players to surface out of sheffield in the last 50 years!! loyalties aside and start to be realistic. same goes for spurr if he were at a prem club he would be in contention for international honours also
