Laws Confirms Sears Interest

Wednesday boss Brian Laws has confirmed his interest in signing West Ham youngster Freddie Sears on a season-long loan deal.

The Owls' interest in the young hot shot was revealed by Peterborough United's Barry Fry after the Posh saw their interest in thr striker thwarted by the Hammers.

Fry insisted West Ham were keen for the youngster to move to Hillsborough, and Owls boss Laws has confirmed his interest.

He told BBC Radio Sheffield: 'We are in with a shout of signing Freddie, but there are other clubs interested in him too,' Laws told the BBC.

'Freddie is currently on holiday, but we will meet up again when he gets back.'

Laws has a young Premier League striker on the top of his targets list as he looks to build his squad for the 2009-10 campaign.

Personally i'd rather have Sears, Anichebe has too much baggage, could affect morale.

Anichebe, he fell out with Moyes, but is he the sort you want in the dressing room, if he has a bad attitude. Sears to me looks the better bet.
