Bring On The Geordies!

The fixture list for the 2009-10 Championship campaign comes out this week - and Owls fans can't wait to make their trip to Newcastle's St James' Park.

Most teams in the Championship will no doubt be looking forward to welcoming the Geordies next season, and making the long trip up to St James' Park.

And the latest poll on Vital Sheffield Wednesday has indicated that Wednesday fans are looking forward to their clashes with Newcastle more than any other match next term - including the Steel City Derby matches.

55 per cent of Vital users have marked the Owls' clash with the Magpies as the 'new boys' clash they're most looking forward to next season.

A derby day double over the Blades last season was one of the highlights of the season and 34 per cent of Wednesdayites would rather look forward to more of the same against the Blades next season.

Newcastle and the Blades were the runaway leaders of the vote, taking up 89 per cent of the votes.

Also in there were Middlesbrough and West Brom, relegated from the Premier League, but Gareth Southgate's men bagged just one per cent of the voting and West Brom bagged two per cent.

The promoted teams from League One collected a small share of the votes, with three per cent looking forward to the trips to Leicester City and Scunthorpe United respectively, with two per cent looking forward to the trip to Peterborough United.
