Will Laws Be Victor-ious?

Our old adversary Neil Warnock and Crystal Palace appear to be heading the race to sign Hammers youngster Freddie Sears - attention turns to Everton's Victor Anichebe.

Whilst the possibility of Sears coming to Hillsborough may not be completely dead in the water (though it is said he wants to remain in London), Brian Laws is reputed to also be interested in a season long loan of the Toffees' Nigerian international.

21 year old Anichebe was out of action early last season with a knee injury which required surgery. That was only his ninth start for Everton: the lack of opportunity in the starting lineup led to a confrontational situation with David Moyes, and the Everton boss could take the opportunity of a loan period to bring Anichebe up to full match fitness before returning him to first team action at Goodison Park.

But the Owl have firepower aplenty in Tudgay, Clarke, Jeffers and Sodje.. is Laws pursuit of a further addition to the strike force due to continuing problems with Akpo Sodje's injury rehabilitation? Or a sensible reinforcement of Wednesday's attacking positions?

Even allowing for journalistic license it is stretching the truth to use the words Jeffers and firepower aplenty in the same sentence!

Sorry Cliff :)
Auckland Owl
you may just be suprised by FJ this season....fingers crossed.
Dubai-Owl
i'm sorry but jeffers has had plenty of chances to prove his worth over the years and he hasn't. Injuries and a decline in form are a recipe for disaster. Just ask that little chap Michael who plays for the geordies. Anichebe on loan would be an excellent move
Norman
rumour has it that everton are going to offer anichebe and rodwell + 3.5m as part of the naughton deal so can't see you getting anichebe + his wages would be far far too much for you skint lot to pay anyway.
bladesforlife1889
We wouldnt neccessarily have to pay his wages if he was on loan pfl
johnnywalker69
lol moonpig thats the best transfer rumour youve ever made up Naughtons worth 12m+?, and as jw69 said everton will prob pay a big portion of wages, anyway Anichebe would be quality hope we pull it off
wesp
rodwell and anichebe and 3.5 mill? what a stupid thing to say you thick b*stard.
ozzietheowl
Do we really want Anichebe? We already have one Everton reject & he couldn’t hit a pigs arse with a stick (sorry pfl! I like the fairy tale by the way) we need a proven goal scorer I would prefer Jermaine Beckford from that place up the road that I forget the name of.
HorburyOwl
ha ha ha muppets!! beckford?? you are all punching well above your weight. mind you your micky mouse chairman does feed you with big club syndrome garbage so its all that can be expected - utterly deluded!!
bladesforlife1889
Beckfords a p**ck wouldnt want the elbowing fecker he'd fit in well at the sty, besides would cost about 1m and hes unproven at champ anyway.
wesp
nowt wrong with gettin a bit carried away anyway how about macheda or delfoenso or whatever hes called from villa
wesp
Both Anichebe and Beckford have attitude issues, and believe it or not, I undertand Delfouneso is a bit of a bigheaded tw*t too. We should be going for players that'll fit in. Shame we missed out on Sears really.
GameBurton07
Haha, pfl you clown! It's United who are currently suffering from 'big club syndrome'. You have serious delusions of grandeur! At the end of the day, you're in the same division as us so face it
johnnywalker69
As were on the subject of possible loan strikers what about Nemeth or Pacheco at Liverpool?? I know Nemeth had a month on loan at Blackpool last season (not sure how he got on!) but both were quite hot in the Liverpool Res last season
Bognor_Owl
signed pacheco on football manager was quality on that :) thats all i know about him though
wesp
how about Stoch or maybe Di Santo from Chelsea? they keep saying how they were impressed with how we looked after Sahar while he was here
wesp
PFL last time i checked we were a big club indecline granted but when was the last time you won a major honour in the game let me tell you pal...1925 so dont come that crap as for beckford he would fit in if as you rightly say we could afford him & WESP as for the elbowing thats part of the game i would except if he got us 25 goals mate i think he would be great with akpo up front
HorburyOwl
1 micky mouse trophy when you spent millions and millions isn't exactlly something to shout about horbury. + we have achieved more in the last 15 years than you sorry lot - and still not spent as much as you lot did between 1992 - 1996. what did curb crawler pleat spend 30m? in 18 months.
bladesforlife1889
Err I think we've won more than 1 'micky mouse' trophy (a trophy that you lot wouldnt complain about winning i might add!). 1 season in the top flight, is that 'achievement' pfl?? Granted you've spent 1 more season in the top league than us in the past 9-10 years so congratulations. Do you want a blue peter badge? And you keep bringing up Pleat and the money he spent (which is way off the mark by the way), so what? whats that got to do with the price of fish?!
johnnywalker69
pfl you t**t how many sesons in the last 15 yrs have you spent in the top flight i think if you tot it up you will find out we'v spent the most time up there. as for pleat yes he spent some cash mate but look at the players we were watching while you were watching keith f***ing curl lol you pigs have no class die die piggy piggy die
HorburyOwl
Well said horburyowl now do as your told piggy 8astard!!
