Burnley Move For Tudgay

Premier League new boys Burnley have made a £1.5 million bid for Owls' star striker Marcus Tudgay, according to reports in today's media.

Sky Sports News, as well as various other media outlets, are reporting that the Clarets have made a £1.5 million bid for the Owls' former Derby County man as they look to build their squad for survival in the top flight.

There's yet to be official confirmation from either club on the situation, but Wednesday are set to respond to the transfer speculation this week.

Tudgay was the Owls' star man last term, and Wednesdayites will be keen for last season's top scorer to remain at S6.

But should the price be right, boss Brian Laws could well cash in on Tudgay to allow him a bigger budget in the pre-season to further bolster his squad.

We need to keep our best players and Tudders was the best last season!!
This is a test of how serious we are, even if they want to sell or Tudders wants to leave £1.5 mill is a joke.
i can see him going he gives it 110% every time he plays up front or on the wing dont think we should stand in his way at haveing a crack at the PREM dont want to see him going if he goes hope we get more money than that so we can get 2 players in maybe buy a striker that can score 20 goals a season not a loan player who will only do half the work tudgay puts in..BEST OF LUCK TO HIM IF HE MOVES think we can all say that hes been great

Wot a joke if true.£1.5 mill hahaha, piggys paid £2 mill for that shower bill sharp and hes nowhere near in the same class as tudders.Iagree wi Bognor_Owl we shud be keepin our best players and pushing for promotion.
Also agree with bognor, i didn't renew my season ticket so we can sell are best players.
if tudders goes what to say we arent going to see the likes of spurr wood beevers and grant leaving i truly hope he doesnt leave becuase all the good work LS has done since taking over will have been for SFA
Its all well and good saying all of these things but we seem to be forgetting one thing. No matter how many times BL or LS come out saying "we are not going to become a selling club" At the end of the day if Marcus wants to go then no one at the club is going to stop him.

yeah but burnley? come on whats the point in that, yeah premier league and all that but seriously I would see it as a step down no offence burnley but he's at a bigger club now and I think he knows it, there has been speculation about him with other clubs before yet he has agreed his new contract, I think honestly he would give it one more year with us and see if we can do it next year
Hope your right Tony because Wednesday without Tudgay after last season don't bear thinking about.

They must be having a laugh!!!! 1.5 million, when we see players of worse quality going for more???? We desperately need Tudders to stay, unless it was for a price that the likes of Burnley can't afford anyway.

for as long as I remember when one of our players gets voted player of the season they usually leave the following season... di canio, alexandersson, brunt etc etc.
You a bigger club than Burnley stop pulling yourselves, they my Championship supporting *****ers are in the EPL and 1.5m is all you deserve.
KatieDawson.... come again?
i think she just did wen typing that crap
Well Katie you made it to the premiership via the play offs (clap clap clap) whoopde********do. Lets not get visions of grandeur ! Your a very small fish in a rather large pond & your season will be over by the end of September. If tudders goes to your shower it would be a step back, i'd rather see him go to Newcastle (who you no doubt think your now bigger than lol)
Katie Dawson aged 13 & a half thanks for wealth of football knowledge? you will be relegated by xmas, trust me you got lucky that’s all you played the pigs in the final it was the worst they played all season you are a mid table championship club at best I remember when you just stayed in the football league. Tudguy is worth a lot more than 1.5 mill & if you know about football you would know that stick to bliss magazine that what my teenage daughter does.
Even if she hadnt have said she supported Burnley I would have guessed she was from Burnley from just reading the backwards sentence she probably took ages to put together with help from her sister (who is actually her mother!) her father (who is actually her brother!) and her boyfriend (who is actually her uncle!!)

Of course we are a much bigger than Burnley who seem to brag off about how small they are when it suits them. But the the pull of the premiership, although for only one season, is big. By the way Katie dawson, how did you think up that sublime and imaginative login name. I wonder what your real name is?

haha i enjoyed those last 2 comments, cheers gents
Yes guys had a chuckle at the last few!!
Report in the Daily Mirror saying that we have slapped a £5Mil price tag on him !

Just wondering but according to the latest the only one who is talking publicly about this Potential Burnley move is Tudder's agent. Are they trying to broker a better deal or just testing the premiership water. I won't be rude to our friend from over the penines. They are in the Premiership, we are not. It's a fact that we have to live with. If Tudders believes that the grass is greener over there just remember what happened to Charlton after Majid left for a "bigger" club.
It would be different if Burnley were an established Prem team but there not! They will more than likely do a 'Derby' If they come with 5 Million though!
Robc if she comes on our site she is fair game. I'm not having some tin pot one season wonder get away with such drivel. Especially one with a literacy problem. The worrying thing about Tudgay is that he hasn't actually signed the contract he has agreed (he is due to sign when he gets back from Butlins) so his agent will be trying it on. Mind you with Tudders record (close season before last) its risky signing him until BBQ season has closed. Seeing him wear a tin pot Burnley shirt will remind me of that horrible moment i saw Carbone with a Bradford shirt on. Still - where are they now?
Radon Barrier
Fair enough Radon, you know Tudders reckons he's got that knife juggling act sorted this year, anyway what's a toe or two between friends?
robc Lawsy is a legend in my opinion. He's said Tudders isn't leaving, particularly not for the p.i.s.s-poor figures being branded about. He's right to bang a large asking price on his head given the accolades he secured last season.
