Wolves' Potter Set To Sign

Former Wednesday loan midfielder Darren Potter is set to sign for the Owls, according to boss Brian Laws.

Former Liverpool youngster Potter enjoyed a successful loan stint in the blue and white last season and Laws confirmed at the end of last season that he was keen to sign the midfielder full time.

The midfielder is surplus to requirements at Molineux following Wolves' promotion and Laws has today revealed that he's set to capture his man next week.

A fee is likely to be involved in signing Potter, but he'd be another piece in Laws' squad for the 2009-10 Championship campaign.

he did a decent job for us last season, but i didnt think he was fabolous.

he didnt pull up any trees last season, think theres better midfielders out there.

You have to remember that we didnt have him for that many games. Plus the fact that his mind was on going back to Wolves, now he has realised that he's not in McCartheys plans that might change his attitude.
Skeggy Owl
they have just signed halford for 2m so this will pave the way for potter
bladesforlife1889
will be a good partnership in the centre of midfield next season potter and miller lets hope he puts pen to paper soon

Looks like, the odd scare apart, a decent squad is coming together. All we need now is that elusive goalscorer.
robc
I wasn't too impressed with him in some games last season but now he knows he's not in Prick McCarthy's plans lets hope he can improve. I think he could become a very good player.
will it ever happen
agree with you WIEH even more so if we dont pay over the odds to get him bet anything you like it will say undisclosed transfer fee
aussie2005
id guess that 150k wouldnt be far off the mark, the lad can shoot n he is not lazy, its another improvemnt in a squad sense so im all for it, dont forget about macca in midfield i think he is in line for a fine season, a great little player that lad.

hu ya rekon laws is goin 2 play in center mid? id defo play macca n tommy miler sounds a gd player so wat about potter?
coppel
Good signing. Will improve both size and quality of our squad (only 3 recognised centre mids (and one is James O'Connor), wasnt spctacular but did well for us last season, especially when you consider he hadnt played for six months under McCarthy! Also, along with Miller, he adds height to our midfield, which was a problem last season when it was just Macca and JOC (neither of whom could pass by the way)! 4 quality centre halves, 4 (ish) able centre mids, we've got a top keeper and a Tudgay, throw in a proven goalscorer and the spine of our side looks very healthy indeed!
