Potter Attends Owls Medical

Wednesday target Darren Potter looks set to put pen to paper on a permanent deal at Hillsborough after attending a medical at S6 yesterday.

The Wolves midfielder has always looked likely to be back in a blue and white shirt next season after enjoying a loan spell at Wednesday last term - with it being only as matter of when, not if.

And Vital sources have revealed the former Liverpool youngster was at the club yesterday to undergo a medical.

Wolves gave permission for the midfielder to discuss terms with the Owls before agreeing a final transfer fee for Potter.

And it looks as though he met with boss Brian Laws yesterday to sort out a contract with the club and undergo a medical - with Laws since revealing in the media that Potter is likely to sign next week.

good stuff

Assuming nobody leaves Laws appears to be putting together a squad that can cope with a 46 game league season both physically and mentally. Experience with Purse and Miller should bring some consistency and a fit Sodje for a full season no doubt will bring us minimum 20 goals, bring it on!

well Potter if ur signing u need to get ya head out of ya arse n start playing for the blue n white wizards.

Bad news. Results of the medical show that he has no recurring injury problems and will not fit in with the rest of the squad.

I hear the figure is 500,000

lets hope we can get a couple more decent players in another striker would do me

Delighted, i think he did very well on loan, after not having to much first team football. Match fit, and season ready, he would be 1st choice alongside Miller. On Tudgay, i can see him going, but cant blame him, loyalty is one thing but if any of us are offered probably double the wages we would all move. If he stays, and turns down Prem football, then that is a sign of real loyalty and commitment to SWFC, which i would love to see, as that would be a real boost for the whole team!

people this lad is a good player iv seen him a few times at under age games and he was head and shoulders above anyone else we had even GW when they played together with games under his belt with us all ready we will see a better player right from the start next season he will be better than GW i give you my word on that

Was a late fan of soccer, as it wasnt that big over here (ireland)untill euro88 and italia90. Saw Sheridan play for Ireland, and then score that goal against Man U in the '91 Final, Sold on SWFC, and a fan ever since. All in all, looking forward to the season, as i think we have the best squad in over 10years. Come on Lads!!!!!!!!!

You dont have to be born in ireland to be irish! Roy Keane's kids were born and bread in england, but you wouldnt consider them english. Same as for Sheridan, he played underage level for Ireland from 16years of age. Come on SWFC and Ireland!!!!!
owl1
I think its goes on your parents what nationality they are, but if your mum was pregnant and on holiday in China and she gave birth to you there, does that make you Chinese? of course not.
Buzz Lightyear
thats right you would be japanese of course
BIG TONY
its a bug bear of mine you should only be allowed to play for the country of your birth all this becuase of your grandparents and so on is BS it robs players who are born and bred in a particular country thier divine right to represent the country of thier birth potter the plastic paddy
aussie2005
imagine French team if that rule came in, think half of Germanys team is either Polish or Turkish
wesp
aussie2005, dont know if you are from down under, but if you are, by your logic you should be disgusted with Bruce Djite (born USA), Dario Vidosic (Croatia), Archie Thompson (New Zealand), all playing for Australia.
