Owls Reject Burnley Tudgay Bid

Owls Reject Burnley Tudgay Bid

Wednesday have turned down what the club have called a 'derisory' offer from Burnley for star striker Marcus Tudgay.

The Premier League new boys have already confirmed their interest in the former Derby County striker, who was the Owls' player of the season and golden boot winner last term.

A figure of £1.5 million has been rumoured in the media, with Tudgay yet to officially pen a new deal to extend his stay at Hillsborough, which is set to expire at the end of next season.

And Wednesday have reacted strongly to the bid from the Clarets.

A statement on www.swfc.co.uk read: 'We would like to stress that this offer is most unwelcome and this move is regarded as an underhand tactic to unsettle our player.'

Tudgay is currently with the rest of the Owls' squad on their pre-season tour of Malta and although agreeing to sign a new deal at S6, has yet to put pen-to-paper.

more interesting comments from Burnley and our favourite agent, Powell, this morning... Burnley saying offer wont be improved, but Powell saying Tudders wont sign a new contract regardless. Check The Star. Doesnt look promising

give it 6 months when burnley are rooted to the foot of the premiership. Burnley will be the new Derby and Tudders has already been in that situation before.
