Owls Reject Burnley Tudgay Bid
Wednesday have turned down what the club have called a 'derisory' offer from Burnley for star striker Marcus Tudgay.
The Premier League new boys have already confirmed their interest in the former Derby County striker, who was the Owls' player of the season and golden boot winner last term.
A figure of £1.5 million has been rumoured in the media, with Tudgay yet to officially pen a new deal to extend his stay at Hillsborough, which is set to expire at the end of next season.
And Wednesday have reacted strongly to the bid from the Clarets.
A statement on www.swfc.co.uk read: 'We would like to stress that this offer is most unwelcome and this move is regarded as an underhand tactic to unsettle our player.'
Tudgay is currently with the rest of the Owls' squad on their pre-season tour of Malta and although agreeing to sign a new deal at S6, has yet to put pen-to-paper.
