Owls Prepare For Hartlepool

Wednesday are preparing for a friendly match in a slightly cooler climate when they travel to Hartlepool United tonight.

The Owls have enjoyed a team bonding pre-season tour of Malta recently, and will no doubt be taking their orange tans with them to the cold and rain of Hartlepool tonight, kick-off 7.30pm.

Brian Laws is expected to field a strong line-up for the clash at Victoria Park, which will pit Wednesday against former player and manager Chris Turner.

Tommy Miller is ruled out for a return to his former club through a thigh strain.

A decent crowd is expected for the match, with the fixture being the only home friendly fixture of the pre-season for the League One club.

Not sure there'll be too big a crowd. Everyone is up in arms at the charging £13 a ticket for a meaningless game.

Fair point Poolie, some numpties ought to get a grip of pricing policies. Higher price doesn't always mean higher profits!

Totally agree, if they'd charged a tenner there would be a far bigger crowd. People won't pay more than that out of principle.

I should say while I'm here that Vital Hartlepool have live and exclusive text commentary on the game from 7pm on this link: http://www.hartlepool.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=162234 Hope to see some of you there!

Are many coming down for the Northampton game next Tues???
Bognor_Owl
Totally agree, a tenner is what it should cost to watch football. Get grounds full again and let the clubs make more money from refreshments and souvenirs. Not only that but packed grounds encourage better performances, which can mean success on the pitch. Promotion, cup runs and all that.

just seen the line ups and france is in tonight but i have always rated anthony sweeney for hartlepool in midfield interesting to c how he does against higher opposition.
