France Awaits Owls Deal

On-trial Ryan France has had two contracts offered to him by two un-named clubs, but is waiting for an offer on the table from Wednesday.

The former Hull City man, who travelled with Wednesday for their pre-season tour of Malta and has been training with the squad, is keen to pen a deal to keep him in the Championship with the Owls.

France, who can play in a variety of positions, is a Sheffield-born Wednesday fans and has made a move to Hillsborough his favoured choice.

Owls boss Brian Laws told BBC Radio Sheffield: 'We haven't offered him anything at the moment, but he (France) is hoping that we do.'

'We are doing everything we can, so I should have an answer for Ryan by the end of the week.'

Laws is keen to get his man, who will cost nothing having been released by the Tigers, and who is thought to be demanding wages well within the Owls' budget.

Nice to have a player who wants to play for us
robc
Totally agree robc. He may not exactly be a cristiano ronaldo but at least we know he'll give 110% for the cause. Plus he's got the experience and if he does sign he may well turn out to be a bargain! Anyway JJ needs a kick up the a**e so maybe he'll stop having one good game followed by 5 bad!

Come on Brian, what else do you need??? Wages well within our budget, free, an Owls fan and he will die for the cause.... get him signed!!!
US Owl
Mt suspicions confirmed, France seems prepared to do a job for us and a good one to boot! On the scoresheet with another great display, hope Laws ties this man down!
WestyOwl7
Lawsy has said finances are tight and offering a deal for France may be a challenge... Guess that's down to the stalling season ticket numbers we had pinned all our hopes on.
GameBurton07
Goal against Hartlepool was sheer class, not just Frances pace and composure but build up was quality get France signed up season tickets bound to stall if we cant stetch to a free transfer utility player on low wages, so it works both ways
wesp
